You don’t need code to use a Google Search API. Every major no-code platform has a generic HTTP request action — point it at serp.cheap and you have Google search in your workflow.
The request (works everywhere)
- Method:
POST - URL:
https://api.serp.cheap/v1/search - Headers:
X-API-Key: YOUR_KEY,Content-Type: application/json - Body (JSON):
{ "q": "{{your query}}", "gl": "us" }
The response has organic[] (position, title, link, snippet) and a stats block.
n8n
Add an HTTP Request node with the settings above. Reference earlier nodes in the body, e.g. { "q": "{{ $json.keyword }}", "gl": "us" }. To use it with AI, connect the node as a tool to an AI Agent node so the model can call search itself.
Make (Integromat)
Add an HTTP → Make a request module: POST, the URL above, the header, and a JSON body. Parse the response and iterate the organic array into the next module (e.g. write rows to a sheet).
Zapier
Use Webhooks by Zapier → Custom Request: POST, the URL, header, and JSON body. Map fields from organic into your action (email, Slack, sheet).
Example automations
- Daily rank alert — search your keyword, find your domain’s position, post to Slack if it drops.
- Lead research — for each company name, search and capture the top result/site.
- Content monitoring — search a brand with
tbs: "qdr:d"and alert on new mentions.
